The Hard-to-Reach Standard Offer Program (SOP) was developed by AEP to provide incentives to suppliers and installers of energy efficiency services to effectuate electric energy efficiency projects at AEP hard-to-reach customers' residences. The primary objective of these programs is to achieve cost-effective reduction in peak summer electric demand. This performance-based program includes monetary incentive payments for "deemed" energy savings generated by installing energy efficiency measures. 2008 Hard to Reach Standard Offer Program The 2008 HTR SOP program manual is ready for public viewing now. If you plan on participating in the 2008 Hard-to-Reach program, please review the Manual and all other information found in the Downloads/Tools section of each AEP companies site plus the Program Overview found on this page, for more information about the program changes, application date, budget reservation date, and general program information for the 2008 program. Please come back to this site on January 16th if you are planning on submitting an application for the 2008 program. You can begin filling out the online application and can submit it Jan. 16th. Budget reservations will not be accepted until February 13th, and only by approved applicants.
AEP's standard offer programs pay incentives to energy efficiency service providers for installations of qualifying energy efficiency measures. The SOPs are open to a wide range of providers, including the following:
- HVAC contractors and dealers - Insulation contractors - Lighting companies - Plumbers - Community Action Agencies Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Application dates will be posted on each program's website.
